As I entered Franconia Notch I could see that Lafayette and Lincoln were quite white,
So I decided Flume and Liberty were safer.
Guidebook said, "Don't go down Flume Slide."  So I went up it.
Trailhead at 8:29.
32 degrees.
Lots of cobwebs until other climbers passed me on Flume Slide.
Several brooks to cross, my hiking sneakers' lack of grip made the crossings challenging.
Flume slide was too slippery for my shoes, so I bushwacked beside slide.
Sunny on Flume summit but clouds were rolling in.
On walk to Liberty light snow fell.
High clouds over Liberty, still reasonable view.
More light snow during descent.

Here's how the Franconia ridge looks today and how it looked in 1961
