1700 I enter ferry terminal to inquire about a cabin for the journey
While the lady was checking, she paused twice to make bi-lingual announcements over the facility's PA system.
Then a colleague asked her to tell "Larry" that a phone call was waiting for him.
She paged "Larry" in both languages.
Eventually "Larry" came by and she spoke to him in English but he had a French accent.
When "Larry" left, I asked her why she paged him in French.
She said, "Company policy is that all pages are in both languages."
I asked if it was so that French-speakers would know what they were missing and she said, "Yes."
I suggested that next time she pages him, make the French version say, "There's a pony waiting for you."
